COVER THIS! ~ THE ARCHIES "self-titled" by Mike Sullivan

Sound Off: The Archies, the only cartoon band to hit the pop charts with a number 1 song (Sugar, Sugar).  Their follow-up song (Jingle Jangle) was a top ten hit.  Their first album was the first album I owned.  It featured the hit Bang-Shang-a-Lang as well as other songs featured on The Archie Show, and animated feature on Saturday mornings in the late 60s and early 70s.

I've taken their album and placed my own comic book group, The Infinity Five in homage to that wonderful collection of bubblegum songs.

(Check out Mike's amazing Kirby-inspired comic work HERE!)

  1. Very cool - matches the cover really well ... but don't you have an equivalent for Hot Dog? I liked the added imprint stuff on the cover, too - gave it a lot of the flavor of albums from that period.

  2. Funny- I did an indie comic made up of lesbian band members- sort of a rough and tumble Josie and the Pussycats. The girls wanted a mascot similar to Hong Kong Phooey, and after deciding Kung Fu Kitty was too prissy, they settled on Action Pussy! Not many people bought it.
